Just what is Acne?
On the left is a healthy pore. On the right is one infected showing a red raised area telling you something is wrong. See how low the infection is? Never squeeze a red area.
Squeezing a red area causes infection to go deeper which causes acne scars like these. Scars are permanent. There are ways to decrease their size but scars never go away. Do not squeeze red bumps!
Here's a pic from an advertisement for treatment of scars. These products work by softening the skin so the scar is not as noticeable. So what products are there? ...
Vitamin E cream applied every day helps soften scars to make them less noticeable. Do this forever. Once you stop, the scar hardens again.
Or grab Vitamin E gel capsules from the vitamins aisle. Snip end and apply oil directly to scar. This stuff is sticky so be ready. You can mix with olive oil which is nature's Vitamin E. ..oh yes!
Olive oil. Nature's Vitamin E. Use it alone directly on scars.
Tofu..Mash up tofu, which is high in Vitamin E, with olive oil till creamy. Use for a facial mask.
Over the counter Mederma is a new product that boasts scar diminish. This one also works by softening the scar.
Guess the active ingredient? Yep..onion extract! Now from what I've read you can't duplicate the formula. I say really? Keep away from eyes if you try your own onion mix.
And lastly for scars, and my favorite.. you can use lemon juice. This will soften the scars and lighten the color of skin. Use directly on scar or with olive oil.
Now let's talk about the acne. Acne comes in one form called blackheads. See these little black specks? Yep, that is blackheads. Also, see the pink areas? That's scarring that has already occurred.
Take a closer look. See it now? This person has tried to control these blackheads by squeezing them. But what has happened is spread of the blackheads and permanent scarring. Don't Squeeze!
Here's a blackhead. It forms like any other with exception that the pore is open. This open pore creates this black area on top, thus the blackhead. So how does one take care of this?
First let's get that gunk out. Apply egg white to face, apply layer of tissue. Apply more egg white over paper. Allow to dry 10-15 min. Peel off gently, blackheads will stick to paper. Rinse and dry.
If you still have blackheads, you may grab this tool to "press and slide " to get any left. Do not help by squeezing!
Personally I just use bobby pins. 😏 So get the last of those blackheads out! By this time your face is probably beet red!
So jump in the shower, make a paste with honey and cinnamon or with baking soda. Rub not scrub onto face gently and massage in. Allow to set while you finish shower. Rinse off when rinsing hair.
Another form of acne is the whitehead. You can see the infection is in a closed pore. When squeezing, the covering makes the infection back up instead of coming out.
A whitehead is when the pore is closed and the backed up oil and bacteria raises up showing a yellow or white head. We start by opening the pores.
Open pores by draping towel over head leaning over steam coming from bowl or sink of hot water. You will start to sweat.
After you've sweated out. Wet washcloth with warm water and lay on face, rinse, repeat. Then make a paste with sugar and olive oil. Massage into skin. Repeat with warm cloth till face is clean.
If there are any whiteheads left, you can prick the top with a needle sterilized with rubbing alcohol and then use one of those tools or bobby pin to "press and slide".
With whiteheads also you can use the honey with cinnamon or baking soda paste as discussed before.
When you jump out of the shower this time, inspect after drying off. If there are any whiteheads left..apply white toothpaste. Yes, it has to be white paste. Leave on overnight to dry it up.
Crazy huh? But it works!
And the last type is categorized as cysts. These must be treated by a professional. Make an appointment with a Dermatologist. Enjoy!
