by Siann Watts

Rejuvenate clothing that has discolourations or stains.

Supplies

  • Tshirt
  • Pebeo Acrlic paint
  • Stencils
  • Craft glue
  • Syringe
  • Paint brush
  • Fabric Fixative
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Supplies

    Step 2

A second hand tshirt found in an op shop that had some discoloured stains on it but was nearly new and good quality. It is very narrow and very long. So it's perfect for a nighty for my 5 year old.

    Step 3

First using a small brush gently brush the glue on being carful to keep it from going under the stencil

    Step 4

    Step 5

Once done let glue dry before continuing

    Step 6

Mix one third fixative with two thirds paint. Then add water to thin paint down.

    Step 7

Using a fork I twisted to get a spiral pattern

    Step 8

    Keep twisting

    Step 9

    Until fully wound up

    Step 10

    Then secure with rubber bands

    Step 11

Using a syringe if you have one add the paint in whatever patterns you wish to try. You could use a spoon or similar to spoon on the paint if you don't have a syringe.

    Step 12

I turned it over and did the other side the same

    Step 13

Add purple to the remaining white bits. Make sure you add enough paint to soak through otherwise you will end up with a lot of white.

    Step 14

Let it sit and soak in for 15min, then you can take off the rubber bands and open it up

    Step 15

Wow. How much better is that. Hang it up to dry. Then iron to set the colour. Put a thin cloth between iron and paint to stop scorching.

    Step 16

    And dry

    Step 17

This is how the glue and stencils went. Subtle but cute

    Step 18

    Step 19

It'll make a good nighty and pink and purple tie dye romps all over white.

    Step 20

Too cute. Now I'm looking thru drawers to see what else I can tie die. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
