This is a Paderno spiral slicer. It can be purchased online through Amazon.com or at Williams Sonoma. Place it on a flat smooth surface and push down so the suction cups get a good grip.
Prepare the zucchini by cutting off both ends.
Then cut the zucchini in half.
You can peel the skin off the zucchini or leave it on depending on the dish you are making. Leaving the skin on gives your "pasta" more of an al dente or crunchy taste.
To make pasta/spaghetti/noodles, use the blade with the smallest holes.
Take half of the zucchini and push it on the circle metal piece at the top of the blade.
Then push the handle piece up against the zucchini making sure the "teeth" are stuck in all the way.
Turn the handle to start spiralizing! Use the lower handle to push forward while turning.
Only 20 seconds to spiralize half!
This is what's left over from each half you spiralize. One idea I read is to take the skinny middle part & use them to make baked zucchini sticks!
These are the zucchini pasta/spaghetti/ noodles you get! Zoodles are fun, easy, & quick to make. It's a very healthy, low fat, low carb, low cal alternative for your pasta dishes!
Here's one of my favorite ways to eat zoodles...topped with tomato basil sauce & grated cheese! Check out my guides for this sauce!
