How to Remove a Breadmaker Paddle Using a Chopstick

My Breadmaker didn't provide any tool or instructions to remove the paddle from a freshly baked loaf. Eventually I found this was the simplest way.

Look at the underside of the loaf. Pick away at the crust around the central hole until you can see the flat side of the paddle hole. This indicates the direction of the blade. Insert the chopstick.

Only insert the chopstick 1 or 2 centimetres. Lever the chopstick away from the 'flat' and the blade will come out.

Put the paddle in the baking pan. Run water to just cover the paddle. Leave for a few minutes so the bits of crust stuck to the paddle and shaft can soak. They then become soft enough to clean easily.
