Your friends and family will enjoy it too. Here is just the project that anyone can master and enjoy. I will go thru the process I took step by step.

Dismantle your picture frame and remove the glass. Wash with hot soapy water and dry. To clean and remove any oils etc.

Using the picture or backing sheet in the frame, build up your back ground with anything you fancy. I used old music paper, torn and layered, and a piece of patterned scrap book paper that matched.

I laid over the top of all the patterned paper an A4 piece of Canson tracing paper. This really helps to take the detail and contrast back a bit so that your lettering work on the glass stands out.

I then downloaded the font I liked for my quote from 1001fonts.com I downloaded scriptina for free and using publisher I typed up my quote. I then played with changing fonts, font size, and position.

Once it was good enough for me to work from I printed it out. You could write it free hand if you are skilled at it, but I definitely need help when it comes to my writing.

Using a PEBEO vitrea 160 glass paint pen (glossy black) I traced each block of words where I wanted them on the glass.  I used a toothpick to clean edges and fix mistakes.

Let paint dry for a minimum of 24 hours

Place in cold oven set at 160•C for 40 minutes. I placed mine on alfoil as I didn't want any marks on it from the tray.
