Apply for and get accepted into a Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. graduate program for Psychology.
Study hard, write a dissertation, complete an internship, and graduate! Most programs take 4 to 5 years.
After graduating, you will most likely have to complete a certain number of post-doctoral hours. If your dissertation is finished, start preparing for the EPPP while the information is still fresh.
Before spending big money on study materials, download StudyPsych's EPPP Flash Cards for your iOS device and study on the go.
If you're skeptical, read the reviews before purchasing the app. People are passing without ever paying for traditional materials. People really seem to love this app.
For the most effective studying, change the card order to Short Term Goal/Leitner, which helps you focus on the topics you're struggling with most.
Start with the first content deck, Ethical Standards, and study it until you consistently score 90% or higher; then do the same with each subsequent deck.
The question is presented on side A. To view the answer...
Simply tap the center of the screen. Swipe left if you're correct, up if you know the content very well, and down if you're wrong.
If you'd like to learn more about a topic, select the middle option at the bottom of the screen then tap "More Card Info."
This will direct you to a website where you can read more detailed information about the content of that particular card (over 85% of the cards offer this option).
Once you're scoring above 90% on all of the content decks, move onto the Practice Questions decks. Again, only move to the next deck once you're scoring 90% or higher.
After you've submitted all the proper paperwork to your State Psychology Board, schedule and sit for the exam.
After a couple weeks you should receive your score... CONGRATS! Celebrate not only the fact you passed the EPPP, but also that you didn't waste thousands of dollars on cumbersome study materials.
