How to Paint Frida Using TCW Stencil

Art journal fun using The Crafters Workshop Stencils combined! TCW makes this fun!!!

Supplies

  • TCW stencil by crafty chica
  • TCW stencil bt zenspirations
  • Watercolor pencils
  • Dina wakley acrylic paint
  • Ranger stickles
  • Faber Castell Pitt pen
  • Gold pen
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Trace over your stencil using a waterproof pen

    Step 2

    Step 3

    Sketch over and around using the same waterproof pen

    Step 4

    Trace a half circle behind her with a light pencil mark

    Step 5

    Step 6

    Write over. I've written my fave Frida quote "feet what do I need you for if I have wings to fly"

    Step 7

    Add rays using the rejoice Stencil

    Step 8

    Continue moving it around your drawn circle

    Step 9

    Ready for some paint!

    Step 10

    Begin your skin shading. I'm using watercolor soluble pencils

    Step 11

    Step 12

    Begin working on the hair and flowers

    Step 13

    Step 14

    Frida loved her jewelry so I gave her some. I'm using a gel gold pen

    Step 15

    Begin working on her dress

    Step 16

    I took some inspiration from one of Fridas photos

    Step 17

    Step 18

    Paint the flowers in her dress

    Step 19

    Using gilt paint the rays behind her back

    Step 20

    Step 21

    I used stickles to highlight the silver wings

    Step 22

    And she's ready!!!
