by Amanda Lynn Joyce

An easy way to wrap up string lights when not in use. This guide can also be used for other things as well such as rope, extension cords, and other cables.

  • String lights
  • 4 rubber bands
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Step 2

Take two rubber bands and place one of them on top of the other.

    Step 3

Take your finger and go underneath the rubber band at the bottom.

    Step 4

Pull the top rubber band halfway through the bottom one.

    Step 5

    It should look like this.

    Step 6

Now take the bottom rubber band and pull it through the top one halfway.

    Step 7

    Like this.

    Step 8

It should kinda look like a plump Star of David if you did it right.

    Step 9

Now take your thumb and forefinger and place them in opposite arms of the "star" and then pull them in opposite directions. Repeat steps 2-9 for the other two rubber bands.

    Step 10

💥BAM💥 You now have two homemade bungee cords!

    Step 11

Now take one of your homemade bungee cords and place in the middle of your wrapped lights.

    Step 12

Pull the bottom part of the cord underneath the lights. Make sure to hold on to the top of the cord so that it doesn't slip out from under the lights.

    Step 13

Now take the bottom part of the cord and feed the end of the lights into it.

    Step 14

Now take the top part of the cord and feed the end of the lights into it as well.

    Step 15

    It should look like this.

    Step 16

Now take your other cord and do the same on the opposite side of the lights.

    Step 17

    Step 18

This time take the other end of the lights and pull it out from of the coils.

    Step 19

    Step 20

Pull the cord completely over the outlet portion. This allows it to stay more secure.

    Step 21

    ✨And your done!✨

    Step 22

What it looks like on the other side.

    Step 23

    Everything stays in place 😊

    Step 24

    They hang very nicely too!
