Cut a section that you like from an old pair of jeans, I wanted to utilize the pocket to stick a photo in so I chose this section for me. Fringe the edges of the jeans and keep your leftover threads.
Using Art Basics Sculpture Medium, saturate the denim and roll or crunch your denim in the preferred look you want once they are dry. Sit and allow to dry completely.
I used the Sizzix Tattered Floral die cut to cut some flowers from the denim material. Saturate them as well in the sculpture medium.
Placing a dowel in the middle of the flowers and squeeze them in a little bunch and adhere with rubber band. Allow to dry.
Once dry your flower petals have some form now and can be manipulated better.
Using the leftover threads adhere them to the middle of your flowers for stamens.
On the canvas I wanted more texture so using a stencil I applied Art Anthology Dimensional paints through the stencil randomly.
Adhere the jeans to your canvas and give it a coat of dry brushing with white gesso or acrylic paint.
I applied this little silver dew drops for interest in between the circles for interest.
Take your white flowers and spritz with water and start painting your flowers to match your background.
I added silver seed beads to center of the red flowers to enhance the silver dew drops that I applied to the back ground.
I matted my photos simply with white cardstock edging them a bit with Oxide Distress Ink in Black Soot and glued them in place.
And then added my title to the piece.
And there you have it, a fun keepsake to display. Hope you enjoyed and for more inspiration visit my blog at toni-burks.blogspot.com/
