My Brit husband missed custard, so I bought a tin of custard powder. It cost a fortune and when I read the label, it was full of additives. So I found this recipe on line. He loves it!
Split the vanilla pods and scrape out the seeds. Rub the seeds into a small amount of the sugar, using the knife. Save the pods.
Looks a bit like sand.
Blend every thing except the pods. Cut the pods in 3-4 pieces and place them in the container you are going to use for storing the powder.
Pour the powder in your air tight container. The vanilla pods will continue to add flavour to the powder. You are done. See the guide on how to make the custard. A cliff hanger if ever there was one
