How to Make Your Butter Healthier

Supplies

  • Butter
  • Coconut butter
  • Microwave or stove
  • Fork or spatula for mashing
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    I have neutral coconut oil here because one of my kids doesn't like the flavor but you can use either.

    Step 2

    Put 1/2 cup of coconut oil in a bowl and stick it in your microwave on defrost JUST until softened.

    Step 3

    Mush away

    Step 4

    Now add an equal amount of room temperature salted butter and mash until smooth.

    Step 5

    You might want to add a TINY bit of salt

    Step 6

    Put into a container to store it.

    Step 7

    Use it just as you would with regular butter. A couple things about coconut oil that make it healthy...

    An excellent Source of Lauric acid which helps control cholesterol, medium chain triglycerides to get your metabolism up.It's anti-bacterial and helps control your blood sugar as well as your thyroid.
