How to Make Woven-Bacon BLTs

by Robin Bastian

I have seen the woven bacon idea floating around out there and always wanted to give it a try. It worked well and was easy, too. Thought it would be fun to share the how-to here :).

Supplies

  • 1 Pounds Bacon
  • Bread
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Mayo
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Cut the entire pound of bacon in half before you begin.

    Step 2

Line a large cookie sheet with foil. Weave 6 half-slices of bacon together to form a square. Repeat four times.

    Step 3

    Make a pseudo-square with the remaining 4 half-slices.

    Step 4

Cover with foil and place in a COLD oven. Turn oven to 400 degrees and bake for 17 - 20 minutes or so. It depends on how quickly your oven comes to temperature & how thick the bacon is.

    Step 5

When the bacon is golden brown, it's done.

    Step 6

Remove bacon from the cookie sheet and drain it on a paper towel-lined plate.

    Step 7

Assemble your BLT. Look how the bacon square fits on the bread - fun!

    Step 8

Serve your sandwich with some chips & enjoy a light lunch or dinner. :)
