How to Make Super-Power Crisp Bread

by Karin Siöö

The super power comes from the Peruvian superfood Maca. It gives the seed crisp bread extra flavor as well as more nutrition.

  • 35 Grams Oatmeal flour
  • 85 Grams Pumpkin seeds (or 50/50 pumpkin/sunflower seeds
  • 50 Grams Sesame seeds
  • 30 Grams Flax seed
  • 12 Grams Quinoa puffs
  • ½ Teaspoons Salt
  • 2 Teaspoons Maca powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Chia seeds
  • 2 Pinches Thyme or your favorite spices
  • 50 Milliliters Coconut oil
  • 200 Milliliters Boiling water
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Set the oven temperature to 160 C.

    Step 2

Mix oatmeal flour with sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds.

    Step 3

    Add flax seeds.

    Step 4

    Add quinoa puffs.

    Step 5

    Add maca powder and salt.

    Step 6

Stir. If you like to add spices now is the time to do so.

    Step 7

Add melted coconut oil & water.

    Step 8

    Stir. Let rest 8-10 minutes.

    Step 9

Pour out the "dough" onto parchment paper.

    Step 10

Flatten it out by adding another parchment paper on top. The trick is here to not make it too thin or it will crumble once it is done simply by looking at it.

    Step 11

When you're satisfied with the thickness remove the upper parchment paper..

    Step 12

..and sprinkle with chia seeds (optional). Bake in the oven around 1 hour. Then lower the temperature to 50-75 C and bake another 20 min.

    Step 13

Here we have the finished result. Usually I get to keep this type of bread to myself but today the rating was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Using oatmeal flour and maca is something I will continue with.

    Step 14

Enjoy with cheese or cream cheese.
