Make your cookies. I have used a shortbread recipe, which is perfect for these cookies. Use a cookie cutter of your choice. Bake, and let cool completely before icing.
Make royal icing. Put it in either a plastic bottle or piping bag.
Ice each cookie. Let the icing dry completely. I like to let it hardened overnight to ensure that the surface is firm enough to hold up to the pressure of stamping.
Choose your stamp. You can have a custom stamp made. I made these cookies for my brother's wedding using a custom monogrammed stamp that was also used on the envelops of the wedding invitations.
Wet a piece of felt with liquid food coloring in a color that compliments your wedding. Press the stamp of your choice on the felt. Dab lightly on a paper towel. Stamp each cookie. Let dry completely.
Tip: You can remove the rubber stamp from the base to see the exact placement of your design and apply even pressure more easily.
