Have everything ready to pour in the pan. Chop your onion, add according to your taste. I like a lot of onions.
Heat oil on medium heat. I sometimes use olive oil too.
You are lightly browning your rice. Stir until ready. Don't walk away like me and burn it! I get easily distracted.
I like my onions chunky, you chop the size you want. I put onions in a few minutes before the rice turns light brown.
Have your tomato sauce and water ready to pour. It will steam when pouring the water. Pour tomato sauce in pan and refill the can with water and pour water in pan.
Sprinkle salt to your taste. (About 1 Tbsp) You can sprinkle garlic power by your taste.
Very Important! Stir to mix everything, cover on medium heat. Do not stir again! You can peak to check on the rice after 15 minutes. I set my timer for 15 minutes. It will be done between 15-20 mins.
It should look like this. You can see the water has evaporated. Every stove is different, check at 12 minutes if needed. I have a gas stove.
This is cheap and easy. You won't eat the box mix again. I could eat this whole pan! Good luck!
