Hi! Studs have been hugely popular lately. I've seen studded shorts, shirts and shoes... you name it. This guide will show you how to make a pair of studded studs. Yes, that's right. Studded studs.
These are the supplies you will need. You could substitute super glue for a hot glue gun. In the following few steps, I'll break down the other supplies in case you're unfamiliar with them.
If you're the crafty type and have studded your own clothing, you probably have a few extra studs lying around. If not, you probably know someone who fits the above description. Befriend them.
I used gold studs!
Here's another picture. You can see the prongs of the studs. Don't worry, we'll be folding them down. You won't end up with 4 extra ear piercings!
I purchased these earring posts off EBay. They're very inexpensive. I think it was about $3 for 100 posts. (That's 50 pairs of earrings!!!) the rubber bits to hold the posts in place are included.
Glue the earring post to the centre of the stud. Hold in place for 30 seconds while the glue sets. Be careful not to burn yourself or stick your fingers together.
Press the prongs on the stud in towards the earring post in the centre. This prevents you from getting 4 extra piercings when you try and wear these earrings. It also helps to stabilize the post.
Repeat this process for the remaining stud.
And voila~ simple and cute studded studs! These will add a tiny touch of toughness to any outfit :)
Here's a one-page summary!
I went a little crazy and made several pairs in different designs. You could use beads, buttons, or anything else you have lying around :)
The process is the same.
