Cut about 100 2" squares out of waxed paper.
Butter two large baking sheets.
Mix sugar and corn starch in a medium-large pot.
Add all other ingredients except drink mix powder.
Stir to incorporate. Heat over medium-high heat until boiling and mixture reaches 255 degrees F on the candy thermometer.
Remove from heat and stir in drink mix and food coloring.
Pour onto buttered baking sheet to cool. Wait 5-10 minutes until the taffy is cool enough to handle.
Butter your hands.
Pull taffy until it is hard to pull and much lighter in color.
Pull taffy into 1/2" round snakes and lay out onto your buttered baking sheet.
Cut into pieces with clean greased scissors.
Wrap with waxed paper and twist ends. Enjoy!
