How to Make ROYAL RICE رز بالمكسرات

Basmati rice with nuts and dried fruits. with special spices. This is the most popular dish among my friends. They call it royal rice. Usually I cook it with olive oil. Some of them are vegans.


  • 250 Grams Rice bastmati 1 mug
  • 25 Grams Raisins
  • 50 Grams Pine seeds
  • 5 Apricots
  • 50 Grams Pistachios
  • 50 Grams Almonds
  • 1 Gram Onion small
  • 1 Teaspoon 7 spices
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ¼ Teaspoons Miskeh peices (2 peices)
  • 5 Cardamon pods
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive oil or clarified butter

    These are the seven spices. The following page is the English names with proportions. They are spices widely found all over the world. I think so???. If not, one can always find them on line

    Basmati rice.wash until water is clear 8-10 times. Soak with boiling water

    Soak all in boiling water 30 mins

    Chop the onions. Diced

    In a cooking pot, put 2 TBsp of clarified butter (سمنة) or 2TBsp of olive oil. Add the onions. Sweat. Then...

    Strain the nuts mixture

    Don't forget to dice the apricots

    Add over the onions stir in.

    Stir in and fry for 1-2 mins

    Add 1/2 cup boiling water

    Cover and cook on low fire. 30 mins

    That is after 30 mins. Water is gone and the nuts are cooked

    Strain the soaked rice and add in the pot

    Stir and fry for 2-3 mins. Add 1 mug of boiling water. Cover. Cook on low fire. 20 mins.

    For decoration 30 g grilled pine seeds, & grilled slivered almonds. More apricots
