How to Make Royal Icing for Cookie & Pastry Decor

Supplies

  • ¼ Cups warm water
  • 1 Tablespoon light corn syrup
  • ¼ Teaspoons almond extract
  • 3 Cups icing sugar
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Measure 1/4 cup warm water

    Step 2

    And pour water into mixing bowl.

    Step 3

    Measure 1 tbsp light corn syrup

    Step 4

    Add corn syrup to mixing bowl.

    Step 5

    Measure almond extract

    Step 6

    Whisk together wet ingredients until well combined.

    Step 7

    Measure icing sugar a cup at a time.

    Step 8

    Add to your water/almond/extract mixture.

    Step 9

    Whisk together ingredients.

    Step 10

    Add the next part of icing sugar.

    Step 11

    Mix together, you'll gradually see it get more and more viscous.

    Step 12

    Once it becomes more viscous you can allow the electric mixer take over, mix on medium until well combined.

    Step 13

    This should be the texture of the royal icing when you're done.
