How to Make Roasted Chicken Leg With Sage and Lemon

This is a simply recipe. The chicken will come out juicy and flavorful.


  • 1 ½ Pounds Whole chicken legs
  • 1 Tablespoon Finely chopped fresh sage
  • 1 Lemon
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 Cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • Paprika

    Chop garlic and sage. Finely mince lemon peel (about 1 tsp). Mix with olive oil, salt and pepper.

    Step 3

    Clean chicken legs. Detach most the of skin from the flesh, keep the end part attached. Remove excess fat.

    Evenly apply the herb/oil mixture on the chicken meat. Then wrap the skin back on.

    Thinly slice the lemon and place slices on a ovenproof pan.

    Place chicken on top of lemon. Add salt, pepper and paprika on chicken skin. You can see the garlic and sage are in between the flesh an skin.

    Cook in the oven at 425F for 30 mins or till chicken is cooked through.

    Step 9

    You can make some roasted vegetables in the meantime. Chop up some veggies, add olive oil, salt and pepper, place them on foiled cookie sheet. Roast in oven for 10-15 mins.

    Step 10

    Plate chicken. Reduce the left over juice in the pan by half to make a simple sauce . Scoop the sauce on chicken.
