How to Make Quick Cake From Scratch

A perfect tea time recipe. The most easy and quick to make cake recipe for an oven baked cake.It can also be topped with caramel/chocolate sauce and ice cream for a delicious dessert after dinner.


  • 1 Cup All purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ Teaspoons Baking soda
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract/essence
  • ½ Cups Butter
  • 8-10 Cashew nuts(optional)
  • 8-10 almonds(optional)
  • Cake mould
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk/electric mixer
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius and grease the cake mold.

    Step 2

    Break 3 eggs in a mixing bowl

    Step 3

    Beat the eggs with a whisk or electric mixer. This step makes the quick cake fluffy.

    Step 4

    Add 1 bowl/cup sugar and beat for 1 minute

    Step 5

    Add 1/2 cup butter

    Step 6

    Add 1 tsp vanilla extract/essence and mix.

    Step 7

    Add 1 tsp baking powder

    Step 8

    Add 1/4 tsp baking soda and mix well.

    Step 9

    Add 1 cup flour

    Step 10

    Whisk until flour is incorporated, making sure everything is mixed well.

    Step 11

    Transfer the batter to the cake mould.

    Step 12

    This step is OPTIONAL. Add some chopped dry fruits to the batter and top with some more to make a quick dry fruit cake.

    Step 13

    Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the center.
