In honor of the release of Alice Through the Looking Glass, we partnered with Disney to throw a party so lovely, that you’ll have no choice but to slow down + sip your tea with friends.
Although the Red Queen doesn’t seem to have a heart, we thought we’d make one (or eight) for her with these beautiful Queen of Hearts’ Cookie Tarts.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Roll out the sugar cookie dough to about one eighth of an inch.
Use the round cookie cutter to cut 16 circles and place on a non-stick cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
While the cookies are still soft use re-cut the cookies with the round cookie cutter. Be careful as the pan and cookies will be hot!
Next, cut the center of 8 of the cookies with the heart-shaped cutter. Cool the cookies on a rack.
Spread a teaspoon of jam onto the whole cookies and then place the heart sides on top.
Powder lightly with confectioner’s sugar and serve.
These cookies are the perfect complement to your tea for a lovely afternoon.
