Let the cream cheese sit out at room temperature to warm up. Microwaving to warm it seems to thin the consistency of the finished product.
Start by mixing the sugar and cream cheese together at low speed.
Add the pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla. Beat on low to medium speed till smooth.
Cover and refrigerate at least one hour.
Spread on bagels, English muffins, breakfast breads, or anything else you can think of.
My youngest grandson doesn't believe in using canned pumpkin!
