How to Make "Pizza Al Tegamino"

"Pizza al Tegamino" literally means "pizza in the pan". This is what happens when you decide to use a baking pan rather than a pizza oven or a baking stone.

Supplies

  • Pizza dough
  • Mozzarella
  • Plum tomato (canned)
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Start by taking one ball of pizza dough. The size really depends on the baking pan you are using. You can find how to make pizza dough among my other guides.

    Step 2

    Lightly coat a baking pan with oil, and start flattening the ball of dough at its center, using the tips of your fingers.

    Step 3

    The quantity of dough should be enough to achieve a 5mm thickness once the size of the pan is matched.

    Step 4

    Using the back of a tablespoon spread the sauce on top pf the dough. You can make the sauce from a can of plum tomatoes, puréed with a blender, with just a pinch of salt added.

    Step 5

    Chop up some mozzarella, and add it on top, place some basil leaves on top and drizzle with a little bit of olive oil. This is a Margherita. You can add whatever topping you want, I like it simple.

    Step 6

    Bake for 15-20min in a 250C preheated oven. Enjoy!!
