How to Make Northern Irish Wheaten Bread

Supplies

  • 1 Ounce Bran
  • 1 Ounce Cracked wheat
  • 6 Ounces Whole meal flour
  • 2 Ounces Plain flour
  • 2 Ounces Oats
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Teaspoon Honey
  • ½ Teaspoons Salt
  • 1 Pint Buttermilk
  • 1 Teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Mix your dry ingredients together

    Step 2

    Mix together the egg, honey and buttermilk

    Step 3

    Dry stuff

    Step 4

    Wet stuff

    Step 5

    Spray cake tin or loaf tin

    Step 6

    Step 7

    Mix wet and dry together

    Step 8

    Like this

    Step 9

    Pour into tin

    Step 10

    Sprinkle with oats

    Step 11

    Bake @ 180c for 40 minutes

    Step 12

    After 40 minutes take out off the oven

    Step 13

    Take out off cake tin and leave to cool

    Step 14

    Slice and cover with lots of butter, or toast and do same:)
