How to Make Locrio De Maiz(rice With Corn)

My husbands favorite type of rice. Goes with any type of meat. Enjoy my recipe


  • 2 ½ Cups Long grain white rice
  • 3 Cups Water
  • 1 Can of corn, with water
  • 1 Tablespoon Tomato paste
  • ½ Tablespoons All purpose seasoning (adobo)
  • ½ Tablespoons Garlic powder
  • ½ Tablespoons Chicken bouillon with tomato
  • ½ Teaspoons Onion powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Sofrito
  • 1 pack Sazon con culantro y achiote
  • 2 Tablespoons Canola oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    The cast:

    Step 2

    In a pot over medium heat add 1 tbs of oil

    Step 3

    To the oil add the sofrito

    Step 4

    The tomato paste

    Step 5

    The adobo

    Step 6

    The garlic powder

    Step 7

    The tomato bouillon

    Step 8

    And the onion powder

    Step 9

    Stir fry it a minute

    Step 10

    After the Minute of stir frying add the corn

    Step 11

    Mix this a minute or two

    Step 12

    After the minute of mixing, add the water

    Step 13

    Add the sazon with culantro y achiote

    Step 14

    Mix it in well. Then let it come to a rolling boil.

    When the water has come to a rolling boil add the rice

    Step 16

    Add the last tablespoon of oil, oh yeah and If you have some cilantro add a sprig or two. I added my frozen cilantro. Forgot to take a pic😱😫

    Now let's wait for the water to be absorbed into the rice. DO NOT move.

    Step 18

    When the rice has absorbed the water, we will turn it around and mound it in the middle. Next lower the heat to low.

    Step 19

    Take a piece of foil and place it smack on top of the pot😊

    Then continue by placing the cover over the foil. Let this cook for 30-35 NO PEEKING🙏. Let this cook without interruption

    It's been 30 Min, let's check the rice...success 🙌
