Fold two strips of duct tape in half (sticky sides touching) the length of the circumference of the ball. This will just be added "padding" for the wire.
Lay each strip on another piece of duct tape and...
Tape it to the ball perpendicularly.
Wrap a piece of floral wire around the ball on top of its "padding" and twist tight enough that it isn't going to move. I cut the ends long enough to make a loop on the end to hang it by.
Cover the wire with yet another piece of tape to be sure it doesn't move. Form a loop with remaining wire.
Here's what we have so far.
Now the fun part. I am using craft paint from hobby lobby. Just squirt and spread. Don't worry if it doesn't cover the print on the ball completely.
Spread of coat one and let it dry. I was in a hurry- so I put the ball in the bathroom with the floor heater on. Each coat dried in about 30 min.
Add another coat, and while the paint is wet, start pouring on the glitter, sequins or whatever embellishment you choose.
Top half done.
I'm not exactly sure how many coats this is going to take. I guess I'll have to report back after Christmas to see how we'll it holds up!
Now... The clear enamel spray. Please spray outside, in ventilated area. I hung mine from the porch railing and sprayed it about every 30 thirty minutes x about 10 coats.
Thats it. Once dry, hang wherever you want Christmas cheer! Isn't my Charlie Brown Christmas tree cute!
