How to Make 'Jazarieh' a Traditional Carrot Desert 🇱🇧

It Is a traditional sort of jam sold in oriental sweet shops in Lebanon. Its origin is from the ancient city of saida, http://almashriq.hiof.no/lebanon/900/910/919/saida1/history.html.

Supplies

  • 500 Grams Grated carrots
  • 200 Grams Sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • ¼ Cups Honey
  • Cardemom(optional)
  • Rose water(optional)
  • Miskeh(optional)
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Grate carrots, add the sugar and let stand until sugar had melted and the carrots has rendered its juice

    Put the carrots in a cooking pot, and cook on medium for 5 mins. Then on low until caramelized and dry.. Stirring occasionally

    Add pine nuts and miskek(optional) or cardemom(also optional)

    When dry add spices(if using) and transfer to a dish and leave until cold

    When cold. You can make bites
