How to Make Homemade Alfredo Sauce

by Annie Ai

A very easy Alfredo Sauce you can make using simple ingredients from home. This is a low-salt recipe so its healthier (and tastier) than your store bought alternative!

Supplies

  • 8 Ounces (or 1 package) Cream Cheese
  • 6 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 0.50 Cups Milk
  • 0.50 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • Pepper to season
  • Pasta of Choice
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    For pasta - boil water

    Step 2

Add spaghetti to boiling water, fettuccine is a type of pasta that goes very well in this dish. I like to boil for 12 minutes; but for you, boil to desired tenderness.

    Step 3

    Drain and set pasta aside.

    Step 4

Add 6 tablespoons of butter to separate pot.

    Step 5

Add one package cream cheese and melt on mild to medium heat.

    Step 6

The cream cheese and butter will look separated initially, be sure to stir while it is heating up.

    Step 7

Add 1/2 a cup of milk.

    Step 8

    Continue to stir.

    Step 9

Add 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, stir.

    Step 10

    Add pepper to desired taste.

    Step 11

Continue stirring until you get this texture.

    Step 12

Add your alfredo sauce to your pasta, and voila! Dinner is served.
