Until the skins start to split

    Step 5

    Lift out

    Step 6

    Place in a tea towel

    Step 7

Like this and start to rub your nuts;)

    Step 8

The skin will easily rub off

    Step 9

When cool enough you can rub your nuts in your hands!

    Step 10

This is how they should look

    Step 11

There is always more than one way to skin a cat, you can also put the nuts into boiling water for 5 minutes to get the skins off then roast in the oven. I prefer doing it my way as I am old school!

    Step 12

Line a tray with silicon sheet or oil a tray

    Step 13

    Add sugar to a pan

    Step 14

Put on a low heat with NO water

    Step 15

It will start to melt and caramelise quite fast

    Step 16

    Looking good

    Step 17

    Nearly there

    Step 18

    Step 19

    Add your nuts

    Step 20

    And coat

    Step 21

Turn out onto tray to cool, don't put in fridge

    Step 22

    When cool smash them up

    Step 23

And blitz in a food processor

    Step 24

    Like this until nicely ground

    Step 25

    And there you go!

    Step 26

Ok so this is hazelnut praline. You can stop now, put it in a air tight container and keep in the fridge or freezer and sprinkle over desserts, mix into icecream. It has loads off uses!

Step 27 want to make hazelnut paste, so carry on

    Step 28

Keep blitzing on high until the oil starts coming out off your nuts

    Step 29

    Just starting

    Step 30

    Like this

    Step 31

Add 1 tsp of hazelnut oil, you can also use walnut or veg oil.

    Step 32

    Keep on blitzing

    Step 33

This is what you are looking for. From here you can add 1 cup of good dark chocolate and keep blitzing and you will have the best Nutella ever, this is also good on toast!

    Step 34

    Hazelnut paste!
