How to Make Hanukkah Donuts (Aka Sufganiyot)

Supplies

  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 40 Grams Yeast
  • ½ Cups Warm Milk
  • 1 Large Egg
  • ½ Cups Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Rum
  • ½ Pinches Salt
  • 1 Liter Corn Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Strawberrie Jam
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, rum, oil, egg, milk and jam (yes jam), into a soft dough

    Step 3

    Let it rest for 1-1/2 hour

    Step 4

    Roll out the dough to the thickness of two inches and create round shapes

    Step 5

    Let it rest for an hour

    Step 6

    Bring oil to a temperature of 160 degrees (320F)

    Step 7

    Fry half a minute on each side

    Step 8
