How to Make Galette

Easy homemade Algerian bread

  • Semolina
  • Canola oil
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Pan
  • Wooden Bowl
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    First get the ingredients: Canola Oil, water, salt, semolina, a pan and a bowl.

    Step 2

    Pour out the entire semolina bag ( 100g) in the bowl.

    Step 3

    Now you add 1/4 of a cup of salt into the bowl

    Step 4

    Create a small well into the semolina and pour in 1 cup of canola oil

    Step 5

    Pour 500 ml of water on the salt

    Step 6

    Wash your hands and mix in all the ingredients together.

    Step 7

    Knit the dough until all the semolina becomes one dough

    Step 8

    Form a ball shape with the dough.

    Step 9

    Now flatten the dough in a circle shape.

    Step 10

    Put holes using a fork all over the dough.

    Step 11

    Place a skillet on medium heat and put your dough in it.

    Step 12

    Constantly turn the dough for 5 minutes.

    Step 13

    Flip over the dough and cook the other side.

    Step 14

    Now remove the gallete from the skillet and placed it on a plate.

    Step 15

    Cut it in small triangle pieces, the galette is ready to be eaten. Bon appetit !
