Gather your ingredients.
In a large pot or pan, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and continue stirring until completely melted. It can definitely take awhile so be patient.
Add drops of green food coloring until you have your desired Frankenstein color.
Once your marshmallows are melted, remove from heat and gradually add the Rice Krispies.
Continue adding Rice Krispies until they are completely coated.
Using either a buttered spatula or your hands, press into a well greased 9x13 pan. Ours was a little bigger so we had some extra space to work with.
Cool and cut into rectangles.
Before they completely cool, press in the candy eyes. Adding a straw in the bottom and covering with a cellophane bag makes for a great gift.
Cut a toothpick in half and add a marshmallow to each half for the ears. Set aside. Then, wait for the Rice Krispies to completely cool.
Melt chocolate in the microwave as per the directions on the package. Dredge the top of your cooled Rice Krispies in the chocolate to give your Frankenstein hair. Let cool on wax paper.
Grab your toothpick marshmallows and dip them in the chocolate. Lay them on wax paper.
Grab a piping bag and fill it with the leftover melted chocolate. Use the piping bag to create a Frankenstein mouth. You can also use a ziplock bag with a corner cut off as your piping bag.
Wait for the chocolate to cool. Once cooled, add your chocolate covered Frankenstein bolts to each side of your Rice Krispie treat.
