How to Make Easy Lettuce Wraps

by Ellen Hug

Asian style lettuce wraps, very simple and easy.

  • 1 Tablespoon Ginger
  • 3 Parts Garlic
  • Bag of pre-shredded vegetables
  • Pepper: red, green, or orange
  • Yellow onion
  • Bulgogi marinade
  • Iceberg lettuce head
  • Ground pork/chicken/turkey
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Gather supplies

    Step 2

It's quick to just buy already shredded veggie mix. We also use broccoli slaw. You can even slice the veggies yourself, add celery, carrots, cabbage, whatever you like.

    Step 3

Dice your pepper, I'd say for two people you only need a half of a pepper. Again you can use whatever one you choose, green, red, or orange.

    Step 4

Add your garlic, you can use already diced but I use a garlic press.

    Step 5

Don't forget the ginger. Scrape off the outside skin and then dice it up very fine.

    Step 6

    All your veggies.

    Step 7

Cook your meat in a large frying pan, then add your veggies, it may seem like a lot of food but it will cook down.

    Step 8

Sauté until the veggies are all wilted, then add half a cup of your bugogi marinade sauce, keep heat on and stir to mix everything. You can try different sauces, for example hoisin sauce.

    Step 9

    Looks delicious.

    Step 10

For your wraps, again whatever you like. We use iceberg because I like a crunchy texture. You can use romaine heads as well.

    Step 11

Cut an iceberg lettuce head in half and then pull apart, makes it easier to use as wraps.

    Step 12

Serve with rice. To make the wrap: put a small amount of rice on a piece of lettuce then put meat and veg mix on top. Consume in one bite. Delicious!

    Step 13

EXTRA: Additionally here's another way to do it. You can use chicken breasts cut up into small pieces. These are a bit big, should be a little smaller. Sauté in olive oil, salt and pepper

    Step 14

We have also cut our own veggies before, onion, celery, carrots, red pepper, garlic and ginger.

    Step 15

    Sauté everything together.

    Step 16

This is another sauce you can use, and I highly recommend. We got it from Safeway but I know Wegmans carries it too.

    Step 17

Served with green onions on top.
