How to Make Easy Chapatis

by Jack McKenna

Supplies

  • 400 Grams Flour
  • 2 Teaspoons Vegetable oil
  • 200 Milliliters Water
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Gather ingredients. We are using everyday ingredients for the cheapest and easiest method.

    Step 2

Sift the flour into a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and mix well

    Step 3

Add the oil and enough water to make a soft dough. (Don't use it all unless you need to - you don't want runny dough)

    Step 4

Leave the dough to stand for 10 minutes.

    Step 5

On a lightly floured surface knead lightly for a few minutes.

    Step 6

Break off walnut size balls and roll into circles as thinly as possible.

    Step 7

Heat a frying pan (without any oil). Once hot, cook the chapattis (turning often) until golden on both sides.

    Step 8

Serve immediately or cover with a tea towel. Enjoy!
