Measure out all of your ingredients.
Beat the butter in a mixer for 1 minute 30 seconds until it is light and fluffy.
Once the butter is at the right consistency, add the cornsyrup and mix on a medium speed for 30 seconds.
Next, add in the powdered sugar in three parts. Add in one part and allow it to mix in with the butter mixture and reapeat.
After all the powdered sugar is mixed in, melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments until completely melted. (It took mine about a minute to completely melt).
Add the melted chocolate into your mixture and beat on medium to high speed until it is mixed. ( mixture will most likely be very thick at this point, it depends on the type of butter you used).
If your mixture is too thick (like mine was) add in a tablespoon of milk or water until it reaches your desired consistency. ( I ended up adding 2 tablespoons of water to mine).
It is now ready!! This consistency was perfect for spreading on my cake and for pipping designs.
