Here is an image of all the supplies you will need.
Place your cardboard texture-side down on a flat surface with your sandal strip template and shoe/foot on top. (The template should be lined with the ball of the shoe sole/your foot.)
Using a colored marker of your choice, begin to trace your shoe/foot. (It is recommended that you leave some space between your marker and shoe/foot for complete sandal coverage.)
Also trace the sandal strap template.
Your trace sandal should look something like this.
Using your cardboard scissors, cut out your sandal trace.
After cutting, you should have one piece of cardboard in a shape similar to this.
This is a great stopping point to begin decorating your sandal! Duct Tape is a great way to decorate the sandal straps.
After Duct Taping both sandal straps, this is what the sandal will look like!
Optional: using a colored marker of your choice, cover the base of your sandal completely. WARNING: depending on the type of marker used, wearing your sandal may stain if not completely dry.
This is our sandal after decoration!
To assemble your sandal, start by folding one of the straps over the other. This is best done while wearing the sandal to make sure that is fits.
Take the straps and Duct Tape them together tightly. If you desire, do this step to both sides of the sandal strap.
Fold the Duct Tape underneath the sandal strap.
Enjoy your new cardboard sandal!
