How to Make Brown Rice & Lentils Casserole

Supplies

  • ½ Cups Brown rice
  • 1 Cup Lintels
  • 3 Cups Stock, any
  • 1 Medium onion, chopped
  • 2 Carrots, sliced
  • 1 Cup Grated cheese, for topping
  • Any spices to taste
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 190c

    Step 2

    Half cup washed brown rice

    Step 3

    1 cup lintels, washed

    Step 4

    1 medium onion chopped very small

    Step 5

    2 medium carrots, sliced

    Step 6

    3 cups veg/chicken stock

    Step 7

    Mix the dry ingredients in an oven dish and add in spices as you prefer or you can just leave the stock do its magic later

    Step 8

    Add the stock to the mixture and combine it nicely so the spices can mix well around the dish

    Step 9

    Cover with aluminium foil

    Step 10

    Leave it in the oven for 1 hour, after that check if the water is fully absorbed or not, leave it for few more minutes if little water left other than that take it out

    Step 11

    Add the selected cheese "slices is the only ones I had at that time :-(" And put it in the oven again for few more minutes until its melted or lightly darkened

    Step 12

    Forgot it a minute too late... But u get the idea!

    Enjoy! Served with veg or any side you prefer (had it with grilled fish yum!)
