This simple plaque from craft store grab bag is where it begins. You can use something similar also. The size is 4x6.
Cover entirely with black gesso or black acrylic paint. Let dry.
Prepare small chipboard frame by first adhering foam dots. Remember to leave top opening for picture to slide in.
I added thin strips of cardboard to create even more height. Again, remember to leave top opening for picture to slide in.
Prepare the surface for wet mediums by applying gesso and drying. Then apply thin layer of a decoupage sealer. Let this dry completely! Finally apply another layer of gesso and dry.
Once it is all dry apply a heavy layer of 3D Matte Gel to back
Place on background plaque and position how ever you prefer.Let dry completely.
Here I adhered a top piece (wooden). Begin adding and stacking embellishments you have chosen. Mine all came from stash and remnants from other projects.
Continue adding embellishments using 3D Matte gel as I did or any strong adhesive hat is repositionable while wet.
Continuation of previous step.
Paint entire piece including embellishments with black gesso. This step takes patience when using colored objects. You need to be sure to cover it all black. Dry.
I added a few Gold/Tan flowers as an accent. These will not be gessoed.
Use a drybrush technique with white gesso to highlight. Add Art Anthology Minx Gold Dust and Metal Effects Gold as well. Be sure to dust the Tan flowers with these. Dry between colors slowly.
Add some white accents using embellishments (molded flourishes and white roses). I also added pearl and gem pins and some crystals.
