How to Make Apple Pie Cookies

A delicious alternative to the average hand pie. A thin layer of caramel sauce and apple pie filling makes for a thin filled cookie!


  • 1 Can (21oz) apple pie filling
  • 2 Boxes pie crust
  • ⅛ Cups Caramel sauce or syrup
  • 1 Egg
  • Flour for dusting
  • Cinnamon/sugar for taste
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees

    Step 2

    Coarsely chop apple pie filling into small pieces and set aside

    Step 3

    Lay out your pie crust and dust with flour

    Step 4

    Roll out to expand your surface

    Step 5

    Evenly spread a thin layer of caramel syrup

    Step 6

    Step 7

    Spread a thin layer of the chopped apple pie filling over the caramel making sure to reach the edge

    Step 8

    Lay out your second pie crust, dust with flour, and roll out to the same size as your first.

    Step 9

    Slice into thin strips for your lattice work. Strips don't need to be perfect as you can see, and FYI it's easier to slice when the crust is cold. I used two crusts for my lattice.

    Step 10

    Begin to lay your lattice over the apple

    Step 11

    Beat an egg for your egg wash.

    Step 12

    Dip your cookie cutter in the egg wash and begin cutting out your cookies. Place them on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.

    Step 13

    Wash with egg and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar

    Step 14

    Bake for 10-15 minutes in 350 degree oven

    Step 15

    Voila! Let cool and enjoy!!
