How to Make Aloo Paratha (Potato Stuffed Fried Bread)

Aloo Paratha is one of the most liked breakfast in South Asia. This is how I make it. Hope you'll try it and like it too.


  • 2 Potato
  • Salt
  • ½ Pinches Turmeric powder
  • ¼ Teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 2 Whole chilli
  • ½ Teaspoons Coriander seed
  • Oregano
  • ½ Teaspoons Cumin seeds
  • 2 Teaspoons Green chilli
  • 1 Pounds Bread dough
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Serves: 2 persons Preparation: 30 mins Cooking: 5 mins

    Step 2

    Gather all ingredients for potato stuffing: green chilli, coriander seeds, oregano (optional), cumin seeds, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and crushed whole chilli.

    Step 3

    You can add more spices to it as per your taste.

    Step 4

    Mash boiled potatoes and add all spices to it.

    Step 5

    Mix the mixture well and set aside for 10 mins.

    Step 6

    From a fresh dough, make a chapati half the size of an actual one.

    Step 7

    Spread the potato mixture generously on top.

    Step 8

    Cover it with another chapati of somewhat the same size. You can stretch it a bit to match the corners. Press the corners firmly.

    Step 9

    Put flour on both sides.

    Step 10

    Flatten it with fingers first. This will elongate it too.

    Step 11

    Now use a rolling pin to make it to the actual size of chapati.

    Step 12

    Now gently put it on nonstick pan.

    Step 13

    Once it is able to move on pan, put oil/ghee on uncooked side and flip.

    Step 14

    Once it's golden brown on one side, put oil/ghee on another side and flip again. Don't forget to press corners firmly so that they cook well.

    Step 15

    Tadaa... Serve it hot with yoghurt.
