How to Make a Spiced Up Tuna Sandwich

I bought too many apples from the farm and decided to make some tuna salad with apples & items I already had in the fridge. The best part is that these are items you probably have around your kitchen


  • 2 Cans of tuna fish
  • ½ Avocado
  • ½ Apple
  • ½ Small sweet onion
  • ½ Tablespoons Yellow mustard
  • ½ Tablespoons Sriracha
  • 2 Tablespoons Sour cream or mayonnaise
  • Chips (optional)
  • Radishes (optional)
  • Some kind of green (optional)
  • Cheese (any kind will work)
  • Sliced bread or English muffins
  • Instructions

    Step 1

    Ingredients for the tuna salad (basically things I have in my fridge already, except I usually prefer sour cream over mayo). Also, I bought too many apples and needed to use them for some thing.

    Step 2

    Peel 1/2 of a sweet onion & 1/2 of an apple and chop them up finely.

    Step 3

    Chop up 1/2 or 1 whole avocado. Add the 2 cans of drained tuna fish. I used an actual spoon and added a heaping spoon of mayo, 1/2 of mustard, 1/2 of sriracha. You can add as much as you prefer.

    Step 4

    Mix all together with the spoon you used for the condiments.

    Step 5

    I didn't have any greens like spinach or arugula, so I sliced some radishes and some apples.

    Step 6

    I toasted some whole wheat English muffins (any bread will work) and I added 2 slices of jack cheese (cheddar or any other cheese will be delish as well) to each slice.

    Step 7

    Added tuna salad on top, followed by the radishes and apple slices. Enjoy with some chips!

    Step 8

    In case you are wondering how to eat the open faced sandwich. You can also just make a regular closed sandwich :)

    Step 9

    Tuna salad can also be used as a dip.

    Step 10

    These chips are delicious (if you like horseradish) but any chips will do!
