Take 6 sheets of drawing paper, stack them neatly, and then fold them in half.
Center the folded pages inside the card stock cover. Place the block of wood under the folded outside edge of the book.
Using a hammer and nail, make three holes through all the papers down the center fold. Make sure the block of wood is in place to protect the table
The holes should line up in the crease. One in the middle, and one an inch from each end.
Cut string 5 book lengths long. Thread the needle. Pull the ends of the string even. DO NOT TIE ANY KNOTS IN THE STRING!
Start on the outside of the book, and bring the needle up through the center hole.
Pull the string until about 2 inches of the ends are left hanging out on the outside edge of the book.
Thread the needle through the top hole of the book.
Pull the string until it lies flat in the crease.
Thread the needle through the hole at the opposite end of the book.
Pull the string until it lies flat against the fold on the outside edge of the book.
Now thread the string back through the center hole again, from the inside to the outside.
Tie the two ends in a knot around the strings running down the fold of the sketchbook. This will keep the knot from pulling back through the hole.
Trim the ends.
You are done!
