How to Make a Scoop From a Milk Jug

by T F

Supplies

  • Clean, empty milk jugs
  • Sharpie
  • Scissors or x-acto knife
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Rinse out the jugs, let dry. I used gallon jugs but you can use any size, which will make different sizes of scoops.

    Step 2

Draw a line with sharpie to mark your cut, then cut out.

    Step 3

Trim your cut as needed to smooth it out.

    Step 4

For a bigger scoop, cut off bottom of milk jug.

    Step 5

    Step 6

Make a mark below the handle.

    Step 7

Draw an arc to opposite corners of the mark, then cut out.

    Step 8

Trim your cut as needed to smooth it out.

    Step 9

You can cut the jugs to fit the job...The scoop on the left I will use with bird seed to fill the bird feeders. The scoop on the right I will use to scoop up leaves and debris when I sweep outside.
