Fold material to cut. For a princess like tutu, use longer pieces, for shorter tutu, use smaller pieces. Mine is cut into 5" wide and about 12" long for a tiny tutu that sticks straight out.
Cut pieces - ready to assemble.
1 piece. Grab it, fold in half, make a loop, then pull thru itself around a ribbon cut to fit the waste. My ribbon was about 50" long.
Piece folded in half.
Prepare loop around ribbon. (I taped my ribbon up but you can tie it or pin it to a sewing board. )
Wrap material around ribbon and pull thru loop.
Even out ends and tighten. Push to one side of ribbon or work next to it.
A few pieces done. A LOT more to go.
Example of adding pieces - easier to follow than the pics.
Finished tutu- ready to rock!
For decor - stitch on flowers or stars or skulls or ... Whatever your hearts content! You can use different colors of tulle as well which makes it more fun.
You can stitch them like so- or carefully glue them.
For bigger flowers- stitch around the flower so it sits evenly and be sure to go thru some of the petals.
For smaller ones, do simple stitches thru the center of the flower.
Sporadically space them or strategically. No judging here.
I'm not putting it on to show you- so you'll have to use your imagination. Sorry but trust me- you're actually thanking me!
