how to make this easy heart pop up card for Valentines day

Supplies

  • 2 12x12 scrapbook paper
  • Petaloo Flowers
  • Glue
  • Hot Glue
  • Twine
  • Instructions

    Step 1

Hey there, here is a super easy Pop up card to make. I happen to be using Graphic 45 Papers, but you can use any 12x12 scrapbook paper. Pick 2 pieces you like (I like double sided papers

    Step 2

Fold each in half, then trim the main card paper to 8 inches long. Then trim the other piece 7.5 inches long, then trim off .25 inch of the long end. You want the inside piece to be just a bit smaller

    Step 3

On the INNER card, make a one inch long line about 2 inches down and 2.5 inches in. Don't go over 2.5 inches in, or your pop up will pop outside the margin of the card- make this line RED

    Step 4

Now with a pencil draw a heart, starting at the top of the RED line, and then from the bottom- my pencil is pointing to the RED line. (use a different color than pencil- I just had red handy)

    Step 5

Cut out by following the line, but stopping at the RED line. I REPEAT DO NOT CUT THROUGH THE RED LINE!!

    Step 6

now you look like this! I decided to go ahead and cut another heart inside of the first heart- but cut the entire heart

    Step 7

Now you should be looking like this. Gently take your finger and push the inner folds towards you, and then re crease the folds but going outwards

    Step 8

Take the inner card and glue to inside of outer card

    Step 9

now its all up to you to decorate!I added some Graphic 45 stickers, but you could write a personal message

    Step 10

I tool the inside heart I cut out and used it on the front and my focal point- glue down

    Step 11

I added some stickers- this cards for Mom

    Step 12

Then I added a chipboard frame, also form the Graphic 45 Mon Amour Collection. I added so foam dots and put in on top of the heart

    Step 13

    Step 14

For a little extra, I added a black and white Twine from the Twinery

    Step 15

now here we go! Pretty on the outside...

    Step 16

    Step 17

    and fun on the inside!
