The chip shot needs a setup that is close to the ball. Distance between the golfball and toe line of your stance should be approximately 1 feet.
The width of your stance about 5" between the insides of your feet. The stance will be open compared to target.
The ball position should be slightly left of the middle your stance.
Grip the club so you form the letter "y" with the club and your extended arms. Important that you regrip the club so you can reach the ball with your clubhead. This part I think a lot golfers misses!
The motion of the chip shot has its center at your shoulder rotation. The longer chip you got to do, the more rotation in your upper body.
One rule for good acceleration through impact! Always rotate further forward than backwards in your swing motion.
