Get your several supplies. I don't have a toothpick or bamboo skewer so I'm going to try to use an unwound paper clip
Don't use cardstock or any thick paper. Use computer paper or notebook paper. Magazines may work too, but I can't tell you for sure since I haven't tried it
I'm gonna make 2 flowers- one cut manually, one automatic. The automatic one starts at step 17. First, the manual one
Fire up the hot glue gun
Get a decent sized round object and trace a circle on the paper
Cut it out
Fold in half
Then fold into thirds
Draw a petal shape
Cut that out
Get a new piece of paper and fold it in thirds
Fold that in half
Trace the flower onto that
You should have 6 flowers
Skip down to step 26. Prepare for the automatic Cricut!
Put your paper on the cutting mat. If it's not sticky, tape the corners
Load the paper
On the Cricut, set the size to 2"-3"
Select the black flower next to LOAD LAST 6 times
Watch the flowers be cut! I'm so sorry about that little view of my fingertip!
Sometimes the flowers come out deformed. Trim them so they look spiffy!
Divide them into 2 stacks of 3 flowers
Roll the petals with a toothpick or a bamboo skewer. A paperclip didn't work so I used by fingers
Press one stack, crumpling it, onto the back of the pen
Do it individually with those three and set them aside
Do the other 3 the same way but with the marker. The marker should be larger than the pen
Do them individually. Sorry about my finger!
You should have 3 pen pressed flowers & 3 marker pressed flowers
Get a marker pressed flower and spread it out a little
Put in some glue
Put in another marker pressed flower
Add the pen pressed flowers. When you get more towards the middle, spread out the flowers less and less
Let the glue dry for a while. Prepare to ink. You might want to test the inks to make sure that they're the color(s) you want
Ink to your heart's desire! This one was the manual one. You could ink most of the flower...
...or just the edges! This one was the Cricut one
You just learned how to make paper roses 2 different ways! Hip, hip, horray!
I won't take all the credit for this lovely flower. I gotta give some credit back to a wonderful YouTube video that inspired me to do this by Hectanooga1
If you tried magazines, please tell me if it worked or not. Thanks :)
Have a nice rest of the day! Thank you so much for viewing this! I appreciate it :)
God bless you :)
