Using gel medium, collage some neutral designer paper onto your canvas.  Use your fingers to make sure they are smooth with no air pockets. Allow to dry or use heat tool.

Add some texture using some acrylic paint and stencils in random places on top of the designer paper. Allow to dry or use heat tool.

Add more texture by stamping using black archival ink. You can use one or numerous stamps.

Once the inks were dry-I wanted to tone down the colors, applied a watered down white acrylic paint coat & allow to dry.

Cut coordinating designer papers in various rectangle shapes to make your tree. Add them to the dry canvas using gel matte medium.

Next, I added some rub-ons, some 3 dimensional embellishments.  To make the images POP-go around the edges of tree and embellishments with a black water color pencils and smear the edges.

VIOLA!!  Once finished-you can punch holes in the top of flat canvas with Croc-A-Dile and thread with ribbon.
