Collect your supplies: floral wire, needle and embroidery floss.

Bend the floral wire into a teardrop shape.

Bend the ends of the wire slightly so they are parallel.

Squeeze the end of the thread between the ends of the floral wire to anchor the end and hide it.

Wrap the thread around the ends to bind them together. Wrap it twelve times or so.

Lock the thread in place by running your needle through the wrapped thread and pulling the thread all the way through.

Now to create the anchor points for the weaving. Create loops around the floral wire as shown.

Space them about 0.5 to 0.75 cm apart.

Work it all the way around and pull through the wrapped portion to lock the thread.

Run needle through a loop near the top an pull thread through until tight.

Now begin threading back and forth until you are happy with the arrangement of the threads.
